For any child (or adult fan for that matter) who loves the Star Wars movies, the Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon set is the perfect gift. There is a great deal of detail, both inside and on the outside of this ship. At more than 15″ wide and 4″ tall, it looks quite impressive once it’s all put together!
Because of the many small pieces, this product is not suitable for children under the age of three. Since it is rather complex and time consuming to assemble, Lego recommends it as a toy for children between the ages of 9 and 14, though younger children may enjoy it, too, with a little help from their parents or siblings.
The set includes 1254 pieces, 2 instruction booklets and a sticker sheet. The pieces include 6 minifigures: Han Solo, Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia and Ben Kenobi, and 3 lightsabers, 1 crossbow and 3 blasters.
The Millennium Falcon features stunning details, including folding panels on the hull that open to reveal a very detailed interior, which includes the control panel, smuggling compartments and even an area to play chess. Children can rotate the laser cannons and flik-fire the twin rockets. They can use the minifigures to recreate their favorite scenes that took place inside the Falcon.
Athough many reviewers mentioned how sturdy the ship is, several people found that it fell apart too easily. One user recommended picking it up carefully with two hands to prevent the pieces from loosening. Some people complained that the cockpit is a little small since only Han Solo and Chewbacca can fit into it. Other fans were disappointed because C-3P0 and R2-D2 were not included. However, overall, the majority of reviewers were thrilled with the ship, which has enough details and features to please any Star Wars fan.
At well over $100, the Star Wars Millennium Falcon isn’t one of the cheapest Lego sets available. However, most parents consider it to be well worth the price, considering how many hours of fun and enjoyment it gives their children.
